In addition to her current memoir and show writing, Terese Genecco is also known as a highly acclaimed singer, bandleader, comedian, Host/Emcee, and actor. For five years, she and her powerhouse 8-piece Little Big Band held down a monthly residency at The Iridium Jazz Club in New York City, proudly billed as "The Longest-Running Nightclub Act on Broadway" where they recorded their award-winning live CD, Terese Genecco & Her Little Big Band: Live At The Iridium in 2012.

After winning the Debut category and being crowned the overall "Entertainer of the Year" in the San Francisco-Bay Area Cabaret Competition, she created and toured her one-woman show, Drunk With Love: A Tribute to Frances Faye!, launching with a five-week run at San Francisco's New Conservatory Theatre Center before hitting the Plush Room and the Rrazz Room in San Francisco, The M Bar in Hollywood, the Peppermill Casino in Reno, Nevada, the Basement Jazz Club in Sydney, Australia and The Metropolitan Room in NYC.

In New York City, Genecco has also held court through multiple engagements at The Metropolitan Room, The Cutting Room, The Triad, The Laurie Beechman Theater, and in a tribute to legendary singer Margaret Whiting at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall. Genecco has also appeared multiple times in the Mabel Mercer Foundation’s Annual Cabaret Convention at Jazz @ Lincoln Center, paid homage to the King of Rock 'n Roll in her solo show Elvis '56, served as a featured soloist for The Amanda McBroom Project, Broadway Swings, The Women of Jazz, Sondheim Unplugged, and with the Queer Big Apple Corps Symphonic Band at Symphony Space.

Her theatrical credits include early staged readings of Brindlebeast! The Musical (now titled Hear Me!) in the role of Beast. She has also co-headlined tribute shows with celebrated jazz singer Shaynee Rainbolt, in honor of legendary composer and arranger Russell Garcia, touring throughout New Zealand and the U.S., culminating in a sold-out, one-night-only concert at The Iridium in NYC. Her work has earned multiple MAC, Bistro, and OUT Music Awards, and she has proudly headlined Main Stage PRIDE events in both New York City and San Francisco.

Genecco is a graduate of Syracuse University’s College of Visual and Performing Arts with a BFA in Music Theater. In addition to her studies at the Syracuse University Drama Department, she has studied voice, piano, percussion, guitar, dance, composition, arrangement, choreography, and acting at the Hochstein School of Music (an Eastman affiliate,) The Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London (through the SU Abroad program), Carnegie-Mellon and Penn State University summer conservatory programs, and with Daniel Marek of the New York Metropolitan Opera and Bill Zeffiro in NYC.  Genecco was lead singer and guitarist in the all-girl rock band, TREMR. She has also penned a full-length stage play, “The Quarry,” which was produced at Pyramid Theater in Rochester, NY; and she has written and performed stand-up comedy and spoken-word poetry.  She is the owner of Mulligan Productions, an entertainment and performing arts management company with divisions in several artistic disciplines.

Genecco currently resides in upstate New York with her lovingly supportive and talented wife, Shaynee Rainbolt.
